Federal brochure on drug and alcohol testing
I ran across a copy of the “Federal Alcohol and Drug Testing Requirements: Information For Motor Carriers” brochure the other day and thought I’d post it on line for those who like to download and print a copy. You can find the brochure at the D.O.T. Website - click here
Retaining drug and alcohol test records
A client called the other day to asked about the regulations for record retention. The regulations for quite straightforward for record keeping and may be seen at the Department of Transportation link. Whe using The Randomizer for you random selection draws, simply save your randomized sheets both electronically (save as an Excel spreadsheet for best results) and physically (print). Save your randomized sheets with a name you’ll recognize such as “1st Quarter Random Draw”, then, as tests are conducted, open up you saved sheets in Excel and note the test results in the appropriate row - you will then have a complete record or testing docket on file to fill any future record keeping requirements.
Using The Randomizer and Excel 2007
Since Excel spreadsheets are the preferred method for data input and export with The Randomizer, people have been asking lately if our program will work with Excel’s new “.xlsx” format. The answer is, yes and no. The Randomizer won’t inport .xlsx files directly but the workaround is simple, simply open your spreadsheet in Excel and save it as an “Office 2003″ file and you’re good to go.
Absolutely no annual license fees…
One of the most common questions asked by people interested in purchasing The Randomizer random selection software is if there are any annual renewal or licensing fees. Here is the answer: No!!! We’re guessing that this question comes up often because a competitor, J.J. Keller does impose such fees. Randomizer 2008 and Windows 2000
We heard from a client today that the installer for The Randomizer 2008 didn’t work properly on his Windows 2000 machine. We’ve had other Windows 2000 installs that have worked without issue, but just in case you find that there is an issue, simply request a download of Randomizer 2004 and that will fix the problem. There is virtually no difference between the two versions. We will look into this issue and post a fix when we locate the issue.
